Delta Air Lines was founded in May 1924, with the previous name being Huff Daland Dusters. The first operation of Delta Air Lines was carried out in June 1929 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The first flight carried out by Delta Air used the S-6000B Travel Air plane for short-haul flights. Delta Air began to make long-haul flights 50 years after its first flight, using a Boeing 747 jet, which was later changed back to the Tristar Lockhead due to constraints on its fuel.
