Philippine Airlines Features
Philippine Airlines (PAL), PAL Holdings, Inc. or known historically (until 1970) as Philippine Air Lines, is a Philippine national airline headquartered in PNB Financial Center, Pasay City. It was founded in 1941, which makes it the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia that still operates under its original name.
Philippine Airlines has a primary hub at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and secondary airport hubs located at Clark International Airport in Angeles City and Mactan - Cebu International Airport on Mactan Island. Philippine Airlines is the only airline in the Philippines that has obtained safety accreditation status from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
With 54 aircraft in its fleet, Philippine Airlines currently serves flights to 31 domestic and 46 international destinations in 25 countries worldwide. Philippine Airlines always tries to show the essence of Philippine pride in various aspects. The first slogan is "Mabuhay," the Tagalog phrase meaning "Welcome." The slogan has changed several times before finally becoming "The Heart of the Filipino," after his 75th birthday. Meanwhile, the Philippine Airlines logo has changed four times since 1941. The first logo is a blue oval with stars and wings, complete with the initials of the airline. The logo was then changed with red and blue triangles, representing the Philippine flag. This second logo has been modified several times before finally becoming a yellow sun tucked between a red and blue triangle, symbolizing the country's flag and national pride.
