The Royal Brunei airline is the national airline of Brunei Darussalam, headquartered at the RB Campus, Bandar Seri Begawan. The Brunei government wholly owns the airline with the main base at Brunei International Airport, Berakas, just north of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.
The Royal Brunei Airlines airline was established on November 18, 1974, with an initial fleet of two Boeing 737-200 aircraft, serving Singapore, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching. During the initial establishment of the Royal Brunei Airlines airline, Brunei Darussalam was still under British rule. After Brunei's independence in 1984, the development of Royal Brunei Airlines was overgrowing. In 1990, the Royal Brunei Airlines began its maiden flight to Europe. At present, Royal Brunei Airlines operates to 32 destinations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia. Its fleet and number of types increased dramatically in the 1990s.
2018 was a year of transformation and significant achievement when Royal Brunei Airlines began developing products, services, networks, infrastructure, and cabin crew. Royal Brunei currently operates fourteen aircraft consisting of five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft along with seven Airbus A320neo aircraft and two Airbus A320ceo aircraft.
