Six of us stayed at this guest house by appointment at arrival, fine gingham. So that wasn't our choice at first. It is located in a very convenient location close to Mayhoffen's major lift area, and its other nice characteristic is cleanliness. Ours had a beautiful mountain view and a large balcony, and the rooms were decent in size, pleasant, and warm. But one of the three double rooms booked has a toilet shower, the other has just a shower with an electric light. The other room just had a basin. Four of us shared one loo on a landing without a venting window! Morning odor is just plain! Breakfast was adequate, with cereal, rolls, meats, cheese, jams, coffee, tea, and an egg twice a week. Her attitude was one of the most rude, unwelcoming, and unfriendly I've ever encountered from a hotel or guesthouse, and it was always the same as every other guest. You almost felt like you were intruding on her life rather than feeling welcomed at your holiday home. One evening I mistook cigar smoke and cooking smells wafting into our rooms because my roommates ski socks drying on a radiator. Only to realize that it was a cheesy meal the land lady cooked that spilled into our room! We got accustomed to joked about the

My partner and I have remained here for my weeklong ski vacation for the past two years. My friend and I vowed we would not return but ended up booking it again because it was so cheap and well located. The pros the location is up the hill from all the main apres ski bars and both main ski lifts from the resort. It's cheap. It's fairly clean and warm. The cons the rooms are pretty shabby and in need of updating. The whole hotel smells of smoke as the owner lives on site and must smoke like a chimney. The owner, bless her, is pretty blunt and acts as if you're inconvenient by staying in her hotel and having breakfast. Breakfast has a pretty good selection of stale bread, ham, cheese and cereal. Just having fruit or yogurt would be great. Oh but you do get an egg once a week. Still I can not hate it too much as I have stayed there twice now. It's perfect for a cheap and fun ski holiday. If your idea of a ski holiday is a day on the slopes and then relaxing in the jacuzzi before getting up to a delicious breakfast, this is not the place for you.
