The hotel is really beautiful with a zen garden in the lobby area. The staff was so kind and accommodating. We experienced authentic tatami floors and enjoyed the public bath which was very relaxing. I would definitely come back!

This ryokan has to be the most authentic, comfortable, and friendliest stay in Kyoto. The morning kaiseki breakfast was delectable. All staff I interacted with were extremely kind and made every effort to help with any language barriers. The room was spacious, tatami-covered, and had a comfortable futon with all the thoughtful amenities you’d expect in a modern hotel. Will certainly be back when I visit Kyoto again!

Wonderful Ryokan. A new and unique breakfast each day was a special touch on top of the Kaiseki dinner (all of which were very Japanese flavours- we loved, but may not be for those who prefer western flavours). The only thing would be that it would be nice to make the booking all in one rather than having to book the kaiseki night separately. Would very happily return.

This is a very traditional hotel. We slept on tatami and ate the Kaiseki dinner in our room. It’s a rather expensive stay but we got to try it.

Our family had a great experience staying at Ryokan Kinoe. It has all the traditional Japanese accommodations. Large rooms, tatami floors, Japanese kimono/ robes, experience public bath if you want but each room has it’s own bath, shower & separate toilet. Very quiet area but walking distance to Gion/ downtown area of Kyoto, temples & shrines. The traditional Japanese meal/ dinner is also a must experience! Excellent place to stay & the staff is very friendly & helpful. Highly recommended!

Children under 6 years old will be charged JPY 1620 per day. Guests are requested to pay upon check-in.
Dinner is served in the guestroom.
Guests who reserved a room with dinner must check in before 07:00 PM or dinner cannot be served and no refund provided.
Please be advised that if guests plan to check in after 19:00, please kindly contact the hotel in advance.
We are unable to prepare vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, religious and brothless meals. However, requests for allergies and dislikes are negotiable. ( We may not be able to meet the requests for some ingredients )
