宿のご主人･女将さんのお二方とも、とても親切で、サービスも行き届いています。朝からいろいろな種類のおかずがいただけて、またご飯もお櫃で出されます。部屋のお風呂もありますが、いつも貸切風呂を利用させていただいています。本当にゆったり出来、疲れも取れて満足しています。予約がなかなか取れないのがとても残念です。

This is our second time staying at Shimizu and we had, just as 10 years ago, a truly wonderful stay. The hosts invited us to try Japanese calligraphy with them after breakfast and they gave us many suggestions for activities in the neighborhood, like an epic flea market on temple grounds not far from the Ryokan. They adapted the breakfast to my vegetarian diet and it was really tasty. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. I'm looking forward to spending time in Kyoto again soon and 10/10 will be staying at this amazing Ryokan

Les hôtes sont très accueillant, à l'écoute et très serviable. Ils nous ont donné de nombreux conseils concernant l'organisation de notre séjour à Kyoto. Le ryokan est très propre et fonctionnel. Ce fut vraiment une très bonne expérience avec un bon rapport qualité-prix.

Service was excellent, and hosts were very thoughtful and could speak english. We received a nice souvenir from them when checking out. They had a list of recommended restaurants and itinerary in the room which was helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the private bath which was free to book.

The property is a good Ryokan experience. The hosts were respectful and provide information on how to get through to the tourist spots. The place is well maintained and i would suggest to try the private bath which is conveniently located in the property for free. The Con here would be the distance from the Kyoto station. Make sure to take the Central Exit after alighting from Shinkansen. There are a few easy to follow rules that you are required to follow in this property.

Accueil vraiment excellent, on nous apporte souvent une petite boisson au retour à la chambre. La chambre et ses équipement sont par contre un peu vieillots et les tapisseries à remplacer.

According to local tax regulation, effective from October 1, 2018, guests should pay accommodation tax surcharge directly to the property upon check-in (per person per night):

Tax JPY 200 - for room rate of JPY 19,999 and under per night.
Tax JPY 500 - for room rate between JPY 20,000 and JPY 49,999 per night.
Tax JPY 1,000 - for room rate of JPY 50,000 and over per night.
All rates are fixed and cannot be discounted.
Check-in before 4:00 PM is not possible. Luggage storage is offered free of charge from 08:00 AM on the check-in date.
Children and infants cannot be accommodated at this property.
For security reasons, only guests staying at this hotel are allowed in the guest rooms. Friends and family members visiting the guests are not permitted in the guestrooms.
Luggage storage is available free of charge until 4:00 PM after check-out from Monday-Friday. Luggage storage will not be available after check-out on Saturdays and Sundays. For an additional charge, luggage can be delivered to Kyoto Station.
