Sojourn adalah hostel terbaik pilihan saya selama berada di Malaysia. Bangunannya dan nuansa kamarnya klasik mirip seperti rumah nenek. Di sini juga ada cafe di lantai 1 sekaligus menjadi public space bisa sbg lokasi bekerja/bersantai. Resepsionisnya sangat ramah dan menjelaskan semua keperluan kita dengan jelas. Tentunya kebersihan adalah buang utama, di sini kamar tidur kamar mandi,tangga, cafe, dan lorong2 selalu dibersihkan. Jadi hostel ini sangat nyaman dan berada di pusat kota. Bahkan dari stasiun taiping bisa dengan jalan kaki sekitar 15 menit

The location is strategic, near the train station and many eateries. The Taiping Lake Garden is 15-min walk. The hotel is located not too far from Perak Museum and Taiping Mall. The room cleanliness is also excellent. Only remember to be careful if you put some food and sweet beverage on the table near TV. Some ants may crawl into your food. The auntie who serves the front office is also friendly and helpful. As my request for early check-in could be entertained, she did her best to accommodate my need for early check-in. So, I decided to upgrade my room in order to have an early check-in. She assigned me a room with Bukit Larut view. Really appreciate her gesture. She also repeatedly asked me whether my room was satisfactory. Other staff are also nice and courteous, including the housekeeping Abang and morning shift front office staff. I feel safe staying at this hotel and walking around the premises.

I will love to return to escape from everything. When I got there, I was overjoyed by the enormous eagle on the roof, but we were unable to locate a proper entrance. Before we got there, we had to go around some uninteresting, industrial-looking structure. The interior surprised me. Everything appears to be beautifully designed and pleasing to the eye. Only one staff member will attend to you and your group. The ground floor resembles a cafe, there are exquisitely decorated seats outside the lobby, the end of the lobby has an attractive al fresco balcony, and there is a sitting area covered in charcoal bricks. The Kang Kao restaurant is on the ground floor, and its signature dish is prawn curry stuffed in bread, which is fantastic with beer. The balconies are better with a nice view, sight, and sounds of fishing villages, and the rooms are on the first level.

We had a wonderful time during our stay here!. But what one would anticipate was to find such a comfortable room in such a rugged town in such a rugged structure. Sadly, we discovered that the beds are hard like a road. Sleeping through the night was further disturbed by loud boats cruising by, room aircorn sucked in air with smoke smells from nearby charcoal factories. The hotel has an excellent restaurant on the premises, and there are numerous stalls selling dry goods and seafood nearby.

It is unique! There is a storage freezer here. Because of its enormous eagle on the roof, you will not miss it. The personnel is pleasant and accommodating. Yet, the commotion is not due to Happy 8. You see, happy 8 is made of wood, and it is common sense to think about other guests in other rooms when you yell, turn on your music constantly, or even stomp around in your room. There is no soundproofing. I adore this lodging because of its location and convenience. However, I had a gorilla living above us who stomps around until after midnight. And we can hear children yelling because parents couldn't care less that other visitors assumed they were living in their own home. That's what makes the lodging unpleasant. Happy 8 would be a fantastic spot to stay if all visitors ponder about others and do your part in promoting some peace and quiet.

In Koala Sentral, this is the only hotel available. It is nicely designed, with a nice view. There should be a lift, though. Extremely unfriendly to use! Imagine carrying your bags up three stories. Be prepared to park along the road because there isn't much space for parking. Despite the flat-screen in the room, there is no transmission. Be cautious if you encounter loud neighbors because the rooms are also insufficient in soundproofing. Despite all of these flaws, I do like this hotel and it can be relaxing in and of itself.

This place is perfect for a quick visit. It's recommended to pay a little more for a room with a balcony overlooking the river because of its excellent location directly across the river. Boats passing by on the river can get a little bouncy, but the stunning view, particularly at sunset and early morning, more than makes up for it. From the outside, the lodging appears nothing spectacular, more like a factory house with a huge eagle at the top. Free parking is available at the opposite temple or across the street. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no elevator and the stairs are steep and poorly lit. When I was there, the wifi and to be down, but I didn't mind. On Monday and Saturday evenings, there is a street market selling local goods.

Bookings must be made online, no walk-ins permitted. We had no desire to search for another hotel that could fit 4 of us in one room, so we decided to try it. Double bed. Room is spacious. Room deposit must be paid back. Plus, they let us park our car in front of the hotel. Good choice for a night stay. Friendly receptionist. Tips Buy bottled mineral water to drink and do not recommend cold water from the water dispenser in the lobby because it's unfiltered.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The rooms evident wear and tear indicate that this hotel has been around a while and has surely seen some activity. The location was excellent because they had an easy access to a mosque. The room's windows would not have been tall enough, and I had to be seven feet tall to truly appreciate the sight. Additionally, the viewpoint is of a Muslim cemetery. Sadly, the water heater does not work. The standard complimentary toothbrush, conditioner, and water bottles were provided. Considering the apparent wear and tear on the room, it would have to be seven feet tall to use the view. Fortunately, they had clean restrooms. Though the pool heater doesn't function, at least the one in my room didn't, I didn't ask the employees for help. It was a strong water flow. The wifi signal strength was weak. During checkin, the personnel was welcoming and upgraded me to a room with a queen bed instead of a basic single bed. The local channel selection was confined to the local stations, and the picture quality was poor. Still, it was adequate for a good night's sleep.

Stayed on 22 august 2015. Nice room but no elevator. Have two levels with no ground floor. Near a main road and a supermarket. The blankets are small and the room is too slow. If you get the last room it will be a bit noisy because it is near the main road. There wasn't much signal, but overall the room is fine.

If you want to spend your nights in the historic city of Malaysia, visit the Sojourn Bed Cafe. You will be pleased to find this homestay Beds Cafe. The ground floor area is a café and the rooms are on the first floor, and the reception has to be done by 7 a.m. You will have a really special and unforgettable experience if you remain here for the night. The Taiping Center, the location is very convenient, and the Taiping Center is close by if you want to eat local meals that are directly across the main road. It is also near to the best lakeside location, which is a nice place for a couple to walk and enjoy the scenery for their future memories. Some heritage buildings, including the first museum in Malaysia, the clock tower of Taiping, the market place, and so on, are all within walking distance at this end of your walk. While you remain in Sojourn, I assure you, your trip will be memorable and enjoyable.
