Beautiful view from room. Would be a 20 min walk from train with luggage. We had a car, so very easy to get to hotel. Breakfast is in price range of town meals and was good. New rooms, comfortable bed.

We stayed 3 nights at this lodge and used it as our base for our daily hiking. We reserved by mistake a room with a shared bathroom. It was a nice room and the shared bathroom was kept clean, so there weren't any problems. And the lodge manager kindly upgraded us on our final night to a lovely room with a suite bathroom, which made our last day even more enjoyable. The lodge has recently undergone a typical mountain renovation, and the views from the room and the balcony are breathtaking. Yes, there are only basic amenities, no kettle or coffee maker, but it is a lodge and the price is ideal for what it offers. If we ever return to grindewald, we would absolutely return. As has been stated in other reviews, there is a 10 to 15 minute hike to the lodge, which is quite steep, so consider it. It was fine for us because we were carrying backpacks.

This hotel has excellent views but it is very steep at the top! So it's difficult to walk down and up even though hotel offers free bus tickets for the duration of your stay, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to climb a steep hill to the hotel and back if you walk to Grünwald, but I would advise you to have a pleasant, peaceful stay with helpful employees.

Although the view here was wonderful and breathtaking, the climb to the top was quite steep. Even though a free bus ticket can be given to guests during their stay, it is difficult to walk 10 to 15 minutes on foot to get to the hotel. But they recommend a peaceful atmosphere, pleasant employees, and a cozy mountain atmosphere.

beautiful view of the mountains. NOT in town but a 10 minute walk to town on a path. free bus service upon checkin but walking back from town would not be for the elderly. the staff were very nice and helpful and check in was quick. especially good if you make your own food/ nice shared areas and porch. more outside areas to relax would be nice and perhaps a bar.
