The Strand is a historical aged hotel but kept in good condition. The rooms are small but clean. The hotel doesn't have an elevator but it is only 3 stories high. Also, the staff carried the luggage to your room. We loved Gloria who attended to our needs. The complimentary breakfast was limited but nice. One main plus was the hop on hop off bus stopped across the street from the hotel. The metro bus also stopped there too! Lastly, the cruise port terminal at Circular Quay was very close to us. About $32 Aus by taxi. We would stay there again if in town.

This is lovely, quaint hotel. There are no elevators, but a maze of staircases! It was fun. Only 17 or 18 rooms. Gloria, at reception, was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I think we checked in around 11 a.m., and she asked if we’d had breakfast. When we said no, she offered to bring us up some breakfast! When we had breakfast the next day, it was lovely - a nice assortment of cold foods - banana bread, cookies, fruit, granola, yogurt and cold meats like prosciutto. Orange juice, too. Each floor had a water station, with cold water and hot water for tea. Eco friendly!

This was quite the hidden gem! Excellent proximity to basically all main attractions. The charm here is access to all the local restaurants/hole in the walls. I stayed in the smallest room by choice and for two adults four pieces of luggage, it was more than enough space. Would recommend and stay again!

The reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the staff. Extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself while quite comfortable and some nice touches like the coffee maker. However we found it very noisey at nights due to a disco above us. The breakfast was a non event, in fact I went out to a cafe and had one there. We had a meal in the bistro, and while it was definitely bistro food it was very well cooked and very tasty. All in I would stay again but would want a quieter room.

Great location hotel lovely room and rooftop bar but noisy over weekend. We weren’t bothered but others might be both road and far very noisy. Breakfast varies first day good second no juice and little choice not sure if I’d stay again because of that.

Great little room. The staff bent over backwards to make sure the stay was as comfy as possible. One night without hot water, however, the team were quick to rectify and had an emergency plumber out asap.

Useable to sleep much, room was located below the roof top bar. 15 hours of dropping objects into bins directly above my head. Hotel description should inform you that there is no elevators.
