Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim

I stayed for a short staycation from 29-31 Dec 2020. Honestly, there were some good and bad moments while I was staying in this hotel: The good things about this hotel: 1. For a city hotel, they provide a pretty wide room & the bathroom is spacey and comfy. (do ask for a higher floor rooms! they have the best view). 2. Their beds are really comfortable, shower & bidet has a strong waterflow. 3. There are many public spaces to sit and relax at the lobby, indoor and outdoor. 4. They have public cafeteria that sells popcorn, instant noodles, chips, and other stuffs as well. It helps a lot when it’s late at night and you need snacks. 5. The staffs at the NOOK restaurant are really helpful! This one female staff helped my mother on her endless requests. Appreciated it! 6. Strategic location. Near GI, Jl. Sabang, and just a walking distance to some of old but OG restaurants. The bad things are: 1. On our second night, my dad discovered that the towels (that they just replaced for us) were not clean. My dad’s has a stain that looked like dirt, while my mom’s has a stain that looked like it comes from food. 2. They only have 1 sandals per room and no bathrobe. 3. The front desk staffs were ok. not friendly but also not rude. One thing though, I realized the one who checked me in (a tall, bald, and a bit curvy guy) forgot to give me my KTP back after my check-in. & around 1 hour later, I was already in my room and they called me asking if I already paid or not. lol. In the end someone brought my KTP to my room. 4. The pool isn’t really a pool. It’s very small & I think it is built for kids. Maybe that’s why they name it Splash 🤣 5. There is no elevator to the basement. So they want you to carry your baggage and all your stuff by stairs to the lobby. I’d suggest to drop your things first at the entrance before you park at the basement. Overall it was an OK experience, just like any other things.. there are goods and bads of a place, and I hope Aloft will improve its service. Especially the front desk area. Thanks!

I'm in love with this hotel, I must really appreaciate their cleanliness, even this is a budget hotel from Merriot but their services were outstanding. The room was spacey and comfy, their bathroom were also clean. They served outdoor breakfast during pandemics but they provide health protocols in serving their food which is impressive. The hote staff were friendly & helpful, I would really like to visit & stay again in this hotel for sure.

I stayed 1 night with my wife and we get a best offer from bonvoy marriott member. The lobby hotel was clean , room was clean and the breakfast restaurant also clean. They do have a lobby bar but closed since pandemic and the breakfast area also very nice , they have outdoor area to enjoy your breakfast. The staff very helpfull and very quick respon when we resquest something in restaurant. Will stay at this hotel again for sure.

My wife booked this hotel for my birthday. She sent my birthday cake to the hotel and chat with Rhany through mariott bonvoy apps. She only wanted to have the cake placed in our room. But instead, Rhany really took great initiative and offered my wife to setup happy birthday baloon and etc (pics attached). Really enjoyed the stay at Aloft and definitely will comeback to have another staycation/ casual stay as it's near our office. Thanks Aloft team esp Rhany & Derry. 😀

Overall I liked this hotel and would happily stay there again. The room was very nice and the staff overall were friendly. Aircon was quiet and effective. Couple of points to improve upon (1) Under Bonvoy Epic Stays credit the rules were extremely restrictive about what could be redeemed. They neglected to apply at check out and there was some haggling before they finally more or less got it sorted. Still not entirely satisfied with the outcome (2) Check out process with the above was slow and chaotic. I asked the very charming lady 3 times to arrange for my bags to be collected from the room but this was not done in the end I had to go with her to the room and assist her since my bags were big and heavy and could not really leave her to manage on her own. (3) There was an electrical humming noise in the room that caused me some significant disturbance. Thought it might be construction outside but realised in the end it was from the lift motors would definitely request a room away from the lift for a future stay. On the plus side friendly staff offered a free beer with my burger at dinner, hotel is in a great location and wifi speed seemed really good. No issue to stay there again in fact would choose to do so however some polishing needed to give truly professional service.
