We stayed in the better room with a view of the lake and the large balcony with a hammock for four nights and had a great time. The room and bathroom were very clean and the staff were friendly. The restaurant serves good freshly made food at reasonable prices. Jungle tours can be booked directly with the owners brother.

Excellent place to stay. They have rooms with balconies that face the river with hammocks and a relaxing bench with the sound of the river it automatically relaxes and the jungle is all around you. The rooms are clean and have everything you need, they serve food from 7 am - 8 pm if you want food. If youre looking for a break from everything or if cities arent your thing, this is a good place to go in bukit lawang. The staff are very pleasant, very helpful and have lots of information for your stay and your future journey. Dedek Ricco and his family are great. If you take the bus from medan airport, it costs 40,000 and when it arrives, across the street, you will get one of the small pubic red buses with bukit lawang in front of it. Dont be fooled by all the tuk driver waiting for you to get off the bus trying to charge you 100,000 per person to bring you to the bus station 20 minutes away when all you have to do is walk 10 meters. ## got charged 40,000 per person for this, which should only cost 20,000 per bag. So haggle well and walk away if you have too as the bus driver only gets 20,000 and the hustlers get the rest.

This place is absolutely stunning. The place is clean and has good facilities. Ricco and dedek are really genuine and helpful people. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable king bed, and sleeping directly over the river rapids helped me get the best sleep ive had in a long time. The restaurant has a great menu and the cooks will easily adapt to your dietary needs. You can also buy bintang vodka which can be purchased further down the road but is really expensive. The nearest atm is 11 km away in bahorok, so pay before you come to bukit lawang. I would not hesitate to come back and stay at fido dido, with its funny name. Great place.
