We didn't think the hosts were pleasant or accommodating as a result of that offer. As a result, we thought we made a decent compromise with the rev guesthouse to brief our stay but to take care of it by bringing in the full room price, not a discount package price, despite the fact that the room's internet was so poor. Despite having air fresheners in the room, the toilet was not regularly emptied, and the internet in the room was so smelly. It made it hard for us to make work calls until we did not appreciate the surf break. We had a hard time finding a clinic on our own to find a clinic for testing, and when we got back home, the hosts never came to say goodbye. Finally, the proprietor of the Rev Guesthouse refused to give us our contact info. Overall, we acted like we were walking atms than guests at the guesthouse. We wish the owners would have been more honest and open about the overall situation so that we could make a wiser decision and take responsibility for our decisions.

We encountered mixed experiences at the guesthouse and the general location. Unfortunately, we came to Indonesia just before the major couid crisis, so our experience was affected by travel restrictions. The proprietors of the guesthouse however were genuinely interested in meeting us and assisted us with travel plans to get to Batukaras. We had a package deal with visa and accommodation, and we were also eager to surf and cool off in the lovely guesthouse. But it turned into a nightmare. We had initially had trouble checking out the guesthouse due to local travel restrictions. We realized how difficult it would be to access the basics, starting with food and ending with surf wax, with travel restrictions. By the time we moved to the Rev guesthouse, we had become aware of how difficult it would be to access the basics, starting with food and ending with surf wax. The local community was, to say the least, unimpressed to see international tourists. And overall, it was an unexpectedly conservative community in a location that promotes itself as a surf spot, I do not recommend surf bikinis on the beach, and small short shorts on the streets. The internet in the room was of very poor quality, making it difficult to make work calls. When we tried to build a conversation about our next plans to move to Bali to see the situation there, we got a very hostile and judgmental response about not appreciating Batuk
