Must have stayed here at least half a dozen times. I get so well looked after here. If I ever need to escape Jakarta and get back to basics and destress from life this is my go to place. I could sit in the same seat and just look out to sea for hours. They even cooked a chicken curry and cumi saus padang for me (it's not on the menu) they do a good bbq too but I was by myself this trip.

We spend 3 night in this amazing place. Bungalow where nice and spacious, beautiful garden, well maintained . Not only that the resort is located in a beautiful spot with white sand and turquoise water but food from breakfast to dinner was delicious as well.I surly recommend this for anyone that is looking for affordable high end resort. We will absolutely go back again next time on our next visit to Belitung.

This was our first time in Belitung and we found it to be a great weekend getaway from Jakarta. There were very few tourists around anywhere, I guess because Christmas and New Years just happened and Chinese New Year is next week. The resort itself is about 40 minutes from the airport and we booked a local taxi to pick us up for 200k each way. I think that Go-Car may have been even cheaper. We arrived after dark on Friday night and were the only guests the whole weekend. The owner's niece checked us in and was very friendly, and spoke English to boot. We were given our choice of cabins - there are about half a dozen - and each is apparently a traditional 2 bedroom house/hut refurbished and brought to the location. I believe the resort is only a couple years old. We chose one with natural wood interior which was roomy enough for the four of us (~25-30 m2). There was a traditional 4 post bed in one room with mosquito net, and a full-size (aka double) bed in the other bedroom. The bathroom had the toilet and shower in the same space - not ideal but I guess genuine local. There was also a sink and mirror. AC was in the first bedroom and served the whole cabin. There were chairs, sofa and clothes dressers as well. Towels, toiletry kit and bottled water were waiting inside for us. Now, the cabin was comfortable, but not fancy. The boards in the walls have gaps and holes (mostly plugged) and there is no insulation or gypsum board. It's like an authentic traditional local house. Very tidy and well maintained, but NOT fancy. No TV, no USB chargers, no mini-fridge. Traditional. OK, you get it. We arrived after dark and didn't think to ask for an extra blanket for the kids' bed (the traditional one). I'm not sure why it wasn't outfitted with any sheets or blanket but maybe this is traditional too. We managed to get one the next night after several attempts to ask the bartender failed (Google Translate wasn't getting the point across) but he eventually figured out what we were after. The other thing we didn't think of was to ask for the exterior shutters to be closed. We all woke up at the crack of dawn to sunlight streaming through the curtains but we figured this out for the next night. The grounds are beautiful, with lush green grass, nice landscaping and everything well-maintained and tidy. The bar/restaurant is nice and built from old fishing boat wood with fishing buoys for lights. The bar has Bintang and Guinness in bottles and cans but no other booze. The restaurant did a serviceable nasi goreng and some other simple dishes. The pool was semi-underground and very attractive. It is designed to resemble a ship with a mast and an upper pool that cascades into the lower pool, which is maybe 80 cm deep. The lower pool was immaculate. Unfortunately, the upper pool (2 m deep) was not being maintained and filled with green algae. I did not realize this in the dark before jumping into it over my head. A bit gross. The next morning I got a little worried about it because the algae was so thick that you couldn't really see the bottom. A kid could fall in and you might not be able to see them on the bottom, even in daylight. The resort should probably keep the upper pool clean, drain it, or close it off. Breakfast started at 8, which was a little late for my morning coffee, especially with kids awake at dawn (see above). I let myself into the kitchen and sniffed out some coffee. After 8 the cooks showed up and we had eggs and more coffee. The hotel staff booked us a boat tour for the day (500k) and also got us motorbikes (80k/day each). The beach and the dock nearby were perfect for the kids. There were two puppies and some kittens also which were delightful. All in all we loved it and thought the place was great. One thing that was a bit odd was that nobody cleaned our cabin the whole weekend. I went and got more bottled water and asked for the rubbish to be emptied. We left the cabin unlocked the whole time (we were the only ones there and there were always at least a few staff hanging out, doing ...something). I guess the default is they leave you alone unless you ask for your room to be cleaned, which is the opposite of most hotels and resorts. No big deal, but should probably be explained to guests. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Rock and Wreck for couples and families.

By far best place we stayed at in Indonesia. Owners and staff extremely accommodating and friendly. Ambiance is great. Right on beach so hear soothing sounds of waves. If you don't want to get salty, they also have a pool. Accommodations are renovated small houses with 4 rooms and open air bathroom - very tastefully done. Shower has hot water. Zach is a master diver and you can book dives with him to see the beautiful coral reefs and fish. Nautical restaurant/bar offers tasty food and drinks. Overall, love this place! Highly recommend! Mid range price for a luxury stay.
