I’m slightly apprehensive about publishing this review as the staff here are so brilliantly friendly, however... some things can just simply not go unsaid.
I regretfully stayed here unexpectedly due to a change in the governments travel policies which mandated me to spend 5 days in an accredited hotel for quarantine.
Firstly, I’d like to say that the staff here are absolutely fantastic and even though the English language, mostly, was at a very basic level that their kindness still showed through. I do hope these negative reviews to this hotel don’t have an impact on the livelihood of the staff.
Some things just can’t go unsaid though. There are many customer complaints in this review section, and the themes and issues are definitely apparent during my stay there. The rooms were mouldy, dusty, generally unclean and had a pungent musty smell. The building was definitely in need of renovations. The food needs improving however was not a bad standard. The general service and competence was where this hotel lacked. I appreciate English isn’t the first language in this country, or even the second for that matter: but they are calling this resort a 5star hotel and charging western prices. It falls so short of the price it is almost laughable. I wouldn’t stay here again out of choice, and I think the price range should be no more than 30USD per night, in its current state. I am fully confident that many 3 star hotels would be at a much higher standard. Many customer service issues were obviously due to a language barrier but that is no excuse. Overcharging me, telling me false information about pricing for COVID tests to name just a few.
I can’t rate the facilities here at this hotel because I was bound to my room, so I can only hope they make up for some of the problematic areas.
In summary, great staff who really tried best to their abilities, close to the airport, but no other honourable mentions.
Accor hotels definitely need to have a re-think and re-structure because there is potential here. Train your staff to provide a better level of customer service, clean the rooms properly and do some basic renovations.
