This hotel truly deserves its motto as Bali's Finest Address. Everything in the hotel is excellent: the property and especially the service. We were upgraded to one of the villas, and it was excellent. Our butler was very attentive and served our many requests for tea and coffee.
The real highlight of this hotel is the service. While the property is nice, there are many other hotels with larger rooms at a similar or cheaper price. Though, what makes St Regis what it is is the excellent service and excellent food. We tried Boneka, Kayuputi, and Gourmand Deli and found that the food and service were excellent. The lobster soup and foie gras soup at Kayuputi was the highlight of our stay. The breakfast at Boneka was also extremely lavish and impressive, with the staff constantly bringing excellent dishes.
The only downside of our trip was out of the hotel's control: a kid from another villa (with his family) swam to our villa through the saltwater pool and tried to pee there until I scared him off. I was appalled by the classless act of this guest but was not able to take further action.
The staff exercised COVID protocols within themselves, but they did not enforce mask usage on guests, which I found relatively concerning. They still have a buffet section for breakfast, and one person was talking while taking food off the buffet, which means that his spit could have been on the food. Furthermore, many guests walked around maskless (largely Australians) and were never reminded of the rules by the staff.
