A girlfriend and I have just spent the last 2 nights/3 days of our Bali holiday in the luxury of the W Retreat & Spa in Seminyak. We did the same thing this time last year but only stayed 1 night/2 days. After such a pleasant experience last year we knew we wanted to finish this holiday with extra WOW and we were'nt dissappointed. The staff were ALL amazing and couldn't have made us feel more welcome from the minute we arrived. From the staff who opened our car door and took our bags, the warm reception staff, the housekeeping staff, the restaurant & bar staff (we went to them all!) to the fabulous and attentive pool boys, the spa staff and the grounds staff - they were all wonderful and made our stay so relaxing & fabulous that we never left the resort until we were on our way to the airport. Everything we wanted and needed was there. The attention to detail is 'bar none' - it's everywhere in the 'W' and it makes this experience one that we wish we could have more than once a year. I have to mention the food - just beautiful & the cocktails - the best! There is always cool music playing outdoors and the sound quality is amazing. The sunsets from the 'W' are stunning and being able to use the resort facilities after checkout was much appreciated. Our flight was a late one so after spending the afternoon by the pool, we had a meal and then freshened up at the spa until we were ready to leave. I can't fault this resort, we left happy & content & a little sad that we wouldn't be waking up there today.

Enjoyed corona period in W, but there were some issues. No tooth kits because they are over Room service not 24/7 Average food in Woo bar and fire restaurant Attitude of the staff, buggy driver Benny refused to bring me to the parking instead he forced me to go to the reception because hotel staff was afraid that I ll run away before finishing my check out. That was my 6 time with W and last time.

Great hotel who give me their great services. Warm greeting from my first step until last step there. I like them so much. The room really great and comfortable to have a holiday there. I spend my time in hotel so much because it's simply amazing. What an experience, thankyou so much W Hotel.

The hotel belongs to a large concern - Marriott concern - and the hotel behaves exactly the same. First, they guaranteed to bypass the hotel costs and refund them. After asking several times I suddenly got no answer and had to contact agoda.com directly to get an answer from the hotel. They told me that all refunds were cancelled until the hotel reopened and from then on it takes at least 45 days. It is an absolute impudence that the client bears the entrepreneurial risk of the hotel, especially since smaller hotels I booked for my roundtrip in Bali refunded money immediately within 14 days. The hotel is a customer trap and more seemingly than its, no help is to be expected in case of problems. It is better to consider smaller hotels that are not only out for the money but also want to give you the real Bali feeling.

Chicken campylobacter food poisoning. I stayed at the W Seminyak in Bali for five nights and was poisoned by a chicken dish which is still making me ill six months later. The food preparation and hygiene standards are sub standard, when I was treated I got the impression the hotel’s doctors saw this a lot. I would advise not to eat at the hotel, I thought it would be safe but three hours after eating I was violently ill. Be warned - this was no two day “Bali belly”, I’ve had five courses of different antibiotics and it’s still with me. The W Seminyak’s kitchens are not safe, do not eat there.

I’m not one to leave reviews but I feel I have no other option now as I am getting nowhere in getting my refund from W Bali Seminyak (Part of Marriott International), despite them cancelling my stay and my 6 several subsequent requests for my refund. They have simply responded with what I feel is insincere PR speak as a delay tactic. In contrast on 5th June, both Ayana Hotel Jimbaran and Emirates refunded me my bookings in full for the week commencing 20th April (same holiday as W Bali Seminyak) Points To Note - My booking with Ayana Hotel Resort Jimbaran was, like my booking with W Bali Seminyak, a fully prepaid booking (for later in the same week) - I totally appreciate that because of Covid, refunds will take longer to process but; o Both Ayana Hotel Resort Jimbaran and Emirates Airline whom I booked for the same week as W Bali Seminyak Hotel have already refunded me on 5th June (over a month ago!) - W Bali Seminyak (Marriott International) state that due to Covid refunds may take up to 90 days to process. This is a worse case scenario but at the very least they appear to be treating it as a starting point. That is presuming I ever get my refund??? I have to date sent them 6 separate email requests for my refund; 19th April, 20th April, 24th June, 25th June, 26th June and 3rd July - 24th June emailed W Bali Seminyak Reservations to say I was concerned as both Ayana Hotel and Emirates had refunded me but they hadn’t - 25th June W Bali Seminyak emailed me that my refund was still being processed - 26th June W Bali Seminyak emailed me that the refund could take up to 90 days to process, that they couldn’t give me an exact refund date but that I was top of their priority list I emailed back that their actions or lack thereof lead me to believe that they were simply trying to pacify me with classic PR speak - 27th June W Bali Seminyak emailed me thanking me for my point of view and that my refund request was now in the hands of their management and owning company - 3rd July I emailed that as it was now 5 working days since they had told me I was top of your priority list and 74 days out of 90 day worst case scenario of dealing with my refund, that they had proven my point that they were simply giving me PR spiel!. I also advised them that was my last communication with them before I go public to highlight W Bali’s insincerity - 6th July email from hotel that they were taking my request seriously and were doing their best at property level to help through this tough situation however, all refunds are being dealt with by the highest management in Marriott, as well as with the ownership of the hotel and are beyond property control. They also said they were copying Mr. Andreas Bergel (Hotel Manager) my email and that he is in direct contact with the stakeholders who are trying to find a solution for resolving my refund - Today - still no refund!
