Saw some previous negative reviews a out this property after my booking. After checked in, all those negative reviews I read were already out of the window . From the room to the front desk and staff, everything and everyone was so surprisingly friendly and comfortable. The location is great too. Walking distance to everything in Georgs town. I am so glad I stayed with this property.

The room was in a heritage house and was beautifully decorated. It was lovely and cool and I didnt have to use the aircon Jalan Penang is nearby with plenty of shopping and restaurants The free CAT bus is close as well I would recommend this hotel as a well situated and beautiful place to stay

Safe in room didn't work at first but got it settled later after staff passed us two sets of keys to reset (poor service). Not much of a welcome. An old-style accommodation, cosy but frills-less. Pool is really small.

プラナカン様式のステキなホテルでした！玄関を通り抜けると、そこは別世界！カメラを構えたくなるかわいさでした。部屋はとても広く、悠々快適です。ジョージタウンの中心部までも徒歩圏内です。私たちは新世界の屋台で夕ご飯を食べましたが、こちらもすぐに行けて便利です。ホテル内にあるフリードリンク、お菓子、アイスどれも美味しかったです。スタッフの方もとても親切で、とても楽しい旅ができました！

A beautiful, historic facility and fantastic staff that take care of all your needs. The rooms can use updating and the A/C in our 1st room was too weak (the staff moved us into another room that had better a/c) but restaurants are a short walk away and again, the staff are great.

The mansion has been beautifully restored to its former glory and it was a total delight to stay in it. The staff are just wonderful, in particular Priya and Steph, who gave us useful directions on eating places and shopping, and were just so obliging. Great to watch the video on the restoration works.

A beautiful property close to the shuttle bus and launderette. The room was clean and has air conditioning. We were on the first floor and it was great coming back to the hotel as it is so beautiful. The staff were welcoming and professional. Would stay here again.

The property was really well located in a smart area just on the edge of the old town which allowed us to explore areas we would have not thought to look up. The hotel is very spacious and cute, but the pool is the real gem, especially after a day exploring. Great dining close by in all directions

It's Penang, traffic is hell and parking is not plenty. And it is Georgetown so road is narrow. Those things are the worst of the entire stay BUT I find no fault with the hotel. It was quiet, the quickest, easiest check in I have ever had - EVER. My husband had to find tiny spot by their entrance so we can drop our luggage, all the while traffic is flowing inches away. They have staff to carry the bags upstairs where our room is located. Then he has to go find parking, luckily right next to the hotel, there was a spot but to get to that spot he had to drive around to find the street leading to it. All the while hoping no one else has taken that spot. The hotel itself was so quiet, I hardly ever see any but 2 occupants while passing the entrance. The pool was refreshing from the heat, it was during the time when they had heat problems. Yes, the stench from all those open storm sewer wafting up it gets really hard to enjoy anything, even while eating at those restaurants nearby. But that's just how Malaysia is. I wish I can pluck the hotel and put it somewhere else in Penang where the traffic is not as crazy and parking is not a stressful to get. Otherwise, the room was clean, the bathroom was huge and clean and hot water works and my boys love the upstairs bed. We didn't hear any noise from the nearby mosque. Actually we slept really well.

The rooms are large and comfortable with characterful decorations. Staff are available and able to give local information. There were water and coffee available and the pool was nice to have a cooling dip, though the poolside was not great for all day chilling out. Super close to the town but not full of backpacker noise and hipster establishments. The wifi in the room was weak and in an old building some noise such as heavy footsteps carries from other rooms

Effective 1 July 2022, the Penang state government has introduced a Fi -Hotel Tax at RM2 per room per night. The tax is payable upon arrival or departure at the hotel and is not included in the room rate
Effective 1st Jan 2023, Hotel will start to collect MYR 10.00 of Tourism Tax per room per night for all the passport holders. Tourism Tax is a tax introduced by the Malaysian government on 1st September 2017. This tax is payable upon arrival or departure at the hotel and is not included in the room rate.

Set in a restored Anglo-Indian mansion, Jawi Peranakan Mansion offers well-appointed rooms with free WiFi throughout. It houses an outdoor pool and operates a 24-hour front desk. Komtar is 1 km from the property. Boasting Mughal inspired architecture, each room is fitted with a king bed and a cosy seating area. It is decorated with ethnic upholstery and wooden window arches. The en suite bathroom includes a shower and free toiletries. Selected units have a 4-poster bed and a top bath. Buffet breakfast is served at the property and you can also grab a meal at the restaurants nearby. Staff at the reception are happy to assist you with laundry service and airport pick-up at a surcharge. You can also ask about things to do and store luggage. Jawi Peranakan Mansion is 1.4 km from Little India and 600 m from China Town. Penang International Airport is 20 km away.

Note : Effective September 1st, 2017, as per Government of Malaysia requirements, hotel guests who are not Malaysian citizens or long-term/permanent residents of Malaysia will be levied a tourism tax of RM 10.00 per room per night stay.
