The service was excellent. Sophie in reception. Bibek (F&B Supervisor) and Ahmed in the restaurant. They were excellent service delivery excellence team. They make you proud. I will return because of them. The condition of the hotel is however a bit of a let down. Excellent location and brand of what was once an excellent property. The executive team needs to do their rounds - the rooms need to be checked for cleanliness and basic upkeep. I would not let it dilapidate to the condition it now is. A shame as it’s a great property. Big rooms but like I said, just need to maintain it with spot checks by the Management team “to know what is going on” and feel the business.

Before booking the hotel, I called to ask whether or not upgrades were honoured and was told that they were. When I contacted the hotel directly prior to my arrival, Ashley Fernandes, duty manager, told me that because of the holidays, they blacked out all upgrade benefits. I was able to review upgrade available and higher-class rooms were bookable, but this is an example of the DoubleTree Al Barsha wanting to be greedy and focusing on future customers and their money instead of their present customers.

The worst experience ever with a hotel managed by Hilton. I am Hilton honors member since long time, never stayed in such bad place like this. The room smells. The mini bar wasn't working. It took them one day to fix after three calls. The room was cleaned next day and guess what, they took the towels and didn't replace with new ones. I wake up around midnight on a sound of cleaning in the corridor. The reception was friendly, they tried their best to resolve the issues but house keeping is a disgrace.

Having stayed at this hotel in the past, I can’t honestly say this ‘hotel’ has gone so far downhill that I would recommend everyone to avoid. The only benefit it really has left is being located next to Mall of the Emirates. Beyond that don’t even set an expectation. There is currently building works going on directly outside the hotel almost 24 hours (except for Fridays). Don’t come here expecting to sleep at night, you probably won’t! Worst fact, the hotel does not even mention this on their website or make advance notice of construction noise. The hallways are littered with rubbish bags and it’s supposed to be a smoke free hotel, I can honestly say my hallway on the 10th floor stank of cigarette smoke. I’m not going to waste my time writing anymore about the hotel apart from recommending you avoid!

Unfortunately Covid has had a huge impact on hotels and the hospitality industry, however a Hilton property’s standard will drop so drastically is something I never imagined. This hotel has sadly turned into a labour camp for survival. Tons of people loitering in and around the hotel. Corridors full of cigarette smoke and other odors and lined with trash. People leaving their room doors open and yelling out loud all day. What’s more frustrating is Hilton honors elite members with their families are forced in the same corridors. If this hotel decided to accept the business they are accepting these days, there should have been some parameters to this chaos. Tourists and elite travelers should have had rooms reserved in other secure areas away from the trash crowd. Very disappointing stay and will not be returning.
