For Exchange Order self pick-up, you must make a reservation to Japantrips 1 day in advance to WhatsApp 0811-234-6680
Please provide your JR Pass username and gender as stated in your passport (for instance, MR RUDI HARTONO/MS SUSAN HARTONO).
When contacting Japantrips, kindly inform us of your preferred exchange order delivery/self-pick up method.
For self pick-up method, the pick up will be at one of Japantrips' offices of your choice.
Delivery Fee is not included
Remember to bring your Exchange Order when departing to Japan and exchange it for a JR Pass at the JR Exchange Office location.

You can also pick up your Exchange Order 1 day after you made a purchase. You should confirm the pick-up information beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.

To clarify, the JR Pass is exclusively for non-Japanese tourists holding a Temporary Visitor visa status.
It's important to note that the date selected by the customer is when the Exchange Order is either picked up or shipped.
Exchange Orders can be picked up or delivered at any of the Japantips offices, which are conveniently located in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Medan, Surabaya, and Bali.
Please be aware that the JR Pass Ordinary is only valid for Ordinary coach trains, while the JR Pass Green can be used for both Ordinary and Green coaches.

E-ticket

E-tickets cannot be cashed.

The Nozomi and Mizuho trains offer both reserved and non-reserved seating options.
JR Bus operates express bus routes, and JR-Kyushu provides hydrofoil ferry service between Hakata and Busan, South Korea.
If you choose to use class 1 carriages (Green Car) or sleeping accommodation in Limited Express carriages, there may be additional costs.

Unlimited JR Shinkansen Rides

The Japan Rail Pass covers unlimited rides in all JR Shinkansen lines, Limited Express, Express, Rapid, Local trains, and some in the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). It allows easy transportation among major cities in the country, like Tokyo and Osaka, including the famous Tokaido Shinkansen Line, Akita Shinkansen Line, Kyushu Shinkansen Line, Hokkaido Shinkansen Line, and more.

Airport Transfers

Additionally, you can use the JR Pass to board express trains to and from major airports namely, Narita Airport’s (NRT) Narita Express, Haneda Airport’s (HND) Tokyo Monorail, and Kansai International Airport’s (KIX) Haruka Limited Express.

Local JR Buses

Buses are also covered with your JR Pass, buses included are the JR Hokkaido, JR Tohoku, JR Kanto, JR Tokai, JR Shikoku, JR Kyushu, Nishinihon JR Bus, and the Chugoku JR Bus. Just make sure you get into the bus with the green JR logo.

What’s the difference between Ordinary Car and Green Car?

-The Shinkansen offers two main seating classes: Green Cars (First Class) and Ordinary Cars (Standard). Green Car seats provide a first-class experience with extra legroom and enhanced comfort compared to Ordinary Car seats. Due to the higher cost, Green Car seats are usually less crowded, offering a more relaxed travel experience.

How about the luggage size that I can bring on board the Shinkansen?

-You can bring up to 2 pieces of baggage for free, each with a total dimension not exceeding 250 cm and a length of no more than 2 meters and weighing up to 30 kg. Luggage under 160 cm can be brought on board without reservation, but for luggage between 160 cm and 250 cm, a reservation is required. Without a reservation, a 1,000 yen fine may apply, and your luggage may be relocated by the train conductor.

What is an Exchange Order/MCO?

-An Exchange Order/MCO is a document used to obtain the physical JR Pass ticket. This Exchange Order/MCO is a physical document that must be brought with you before you depart for Japan. You can choose whether the Exchange Order will be sent to your address in Indonesia or if you want to pick it up directly from one of the Japantrips offices.

Can the Exchange Order/MCO be sent in electronic form (softcopy)?

-No. The Exchange Order you show when exchanging must be a physical document.

What is the difference between JR Pass Nationwide - Indonesia Delivery & JR Pass Nationwide - Self Pick Up?

-For Indonesia Delivery, your Exchange Order will be sent to the address you provided at the time of purchase (make sure the address you provided is an Indonesian address). For Self-Pick Up, you must collect the Exchange Order at one of the Japantrips offices in Jakarta, Tangerang (BSD), Medan, Bali, Bandung, or Surabaya.

How long does it take to deliver the Exchange Order/MCO to my address?

-The delivery of the Exchange Order takes about 5 - 7 working days (excluding holidays) from the time payment is confirmed. Make sure you purchase the JR Pass at least 14 working days before your departure date to Japan. Also, ensure that the address you provide is located in Indonesia.

If I want to pick up the Exchange Order/MCO myself, where can I collect it?

-Make sure you purchase the JR Pass Nationwide - Self Pick Up. After the payment is confirmed, immediately contact Japantrips via WhatsApp at 0811-2346-680 to arrange the date and location for collection at one of the Japantrips offices in Jakarta, Tangerang (BSD), Medan, Bali, Bandung, or Surabaya.

How long is the Exchange Order/MCO valid for?

-The Exchange Order is valid for 90 (ninety) days from the date the voucher is confirmed.

Where can I exchange the Exchange Order/MCO I received?

-You can exchange your Exchange Order at any JR office in major stations across Japan. For a list of exchange locations, you can click this link. Don't forget to bring your passport when exchanging.

When can I activate my JR Pass?

-After exchanging your Exchange Order for the physical JR Pass ticket, you can choose the activation date within 30 (thirty) days from the date of exchange. Please ask for assistance from the JR Pass staff at the exchange location to set your ticket activation date.

If the Exchange Order/MCO is lost, can it be reissued?

-No. If the Exchange Order you received is lost, stolen, or damaged, it cannot be reissued. You will need to purchase a new one.
